Easter Easter in Germany is celebrated like any other country would. They have chocolate eggs, Easter bunnies, flowers ect. But unlike us, they decorate hollowed eggs. With paint and glitter.
Easter weekend On good Friday they eat dishes with fish In them. On Saturday evening there is a mass lasting until Sunday morning. Sunday is the family day. When they have a big feast, with coloured eggs and a lamb shaped cake.
Run up to Easter On the Thursday before good Friday they have green eggs. They burn old Christmas trees, to signify the end of winter. In Oberammergau 1200 villagers play a play for six hours. Just before lent there is a carnival called Fasching. Underlined words are in German.
