WHY?WHY? Louisiana Purchase Farmers in the west REALLY wanted the Mississippi River to ship their goods to consumers! New Orleans was the MOST important city and we needed/wanted to buy it! France owned New Orleans

WHAT! Louisiana Purchase Jefferson sent Robert Livingston to buy New Orleans for up to $10 million. The French offered to sell ALL of Louisiana for only $15 million!
