Christmas Jumper Day Friday 12 th December is Christmas Jumper Day at JLC. Please join the Mentor Team in wearing your best Christmas jumper to support Save the Children. Feel free to donate £2 by texting TEAMMENTOR to Look out for these posters around college for more information.

Get Set Passports If you have your completed Get Set Passport with you, please hand it in on your way out today. All passports require 3 stamps and a complete evaluation before handing into your mentor by: Monday 15 th December

UCAS Final Reminder The UCAS pay and send deadline has now passed. The external deadline is January 15 th. We have until this date to send your application after thorough checks have been made. Please allow time for these checks, all applications submitted by 1 st December will be sent on time and will have equal consideration. If you haven’t yet completed but are applying this year, see your Mentor immediately!

UCAS Track Reminder Once your UCAS application has been submitted, you need to track the progress of any offers and messages. To do this you need to do the following: Go onto UCAS Select Apply or Track Select Track your Application Input your Personal ID Number and password (not your user name)

Traffic Light System As a result of recent student feedback, a new traffic light system has been put in place across college’s study zones. Please respect this and adhere to the zone colour you are in. Green: Group Work Amber: Quiet Study Red: Silent Study Please do not remove the Netbooks from their immediate area.

Messages from Andy Charlesworth No eating in the ARC or LRC areas. Please tidy all litter when you leave your table and the area. The ARC and LRC areas are study areas and not social spaces. Please do not misuse the netbooks and other resources. Place them back in the cart once you have finished so they can be recharged for other students. If you are not using the space appropriately, expect to be asked to leave by a member of staff. Have any concerns/opinions? Please speak to Andy, the SU or the lead reps.

Social Mobility Foundation Exciting opportunity to apply for an all expenses paid internship during the summer in a variety of industries for First Year students from low income families. Students receive a mentor, placement, university workshops and social activates. You will receive guidance after the placement on graduate jobs and your future studies. Check for the entry criteria and more information. DEADLINE: 9am on Monday 22 nd December 2014

Student Governors A Student Governor’s role is to attend college Corporation meetings where we decide and comment on decisions that affect the college. We are here for the students, and are here to assist with any issues you may have in college. We ensure any issue given to us is dealt with.
