Presentation transcript:

 The USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project was first introduced in our school in the school year of 2013/2014.  The presentation of the project started by its dissemination to the teachers for the purposes of introducing and defining the areas to work on in the future period.  In October 2013, partnership was concluded with the three lingual school from Struga “Dr Ibrahim Temo”.  Numerous independent workshops were conducted within the school.  In the period January – May 2014, the two partner school visited each other and implemented joint activities.

 In the school year of 2014/2015, the activities for improvement and advancement of the interethnic relations in the school continued with an increased scope and intensity.  The biggest changes were made in the planning and implementation of events in the school, regarding which now the school makes sure that they are implemented by mixed ethnic groups of students and on different topics for the purposes of overcoming and opposing stereotypes about certain ethnic groups and improving the interethnic coexistence among the students.  From the independent multicultural workshops within the school, the success achieved at the workshop on the occasion of the Valentine’s Day can be singled out, at which a mixed ethnic group of students prepared and performed a play in English language under the motto: “love unites us all”.

 This school year of 2015/2016, our school established a new partnership with the bilingual school SUGS “Braka Miladinovci” from Skopje, with whom we jointly implemented four activities – art workshop, visit to cultural and historical monuments, basketball match and a debate titled: “Education – a door to success”.  The teachers from both partner schools exchanged teaching material, teaching aids and information in electronic manner, however the biggest success of the joint cooperation were the established friendships among the students from both schools, regardless of their religious and ethnic background. Those friendships continued and thrived, and that was the basic goal that we set – opposing stereotypes and acceptance and mutual cooperation among the students from different ethnic and religious background.

 During this school year, the municipal secondary school “Jovce Teslickov” implemented the following independent multicultural workshops and joint activities with the partner school:  - Workshops on life skills education with IIE topic on the homeroom classes  - Independent multicultural workshop: A play in English language on IIE topic  - Independent multicultural workshop: Research on the state of the drinking water in Veles, Chaska and the villages in the vicinity of these municipalities  - Independent multicultural workshop: Debate on the marriage – advantages and disadvantages of the mixed ethnic marriage
