People Group Accommodation with support Market Position Statement + Statement of Intent + Baseline Prevalence data = Accommodation with support strategy

People Group Accommodation with Support Headlines for WCC sourced activity: Residential (Older People) – the demand will decrease across the period. Residential (Dementia specialist) – shows an increase between 2014 and 2020 across the County. Nursing (Dementia specialist) – shows an increase across the period.

People Group Accommodation with Support Effective market management must effectively deploy a range of contractual tools to commission affordable services. It is evident that this will follow the areas of acutest need. The rise in demand for specialist residential and nursing care will require a corresponding model of delivery. We must develop an agreed model of delivery and standard of quality for this specialist market. The fee rates which we pay are a key part of establishing the delivery model for specialist care. Fee rates must be set fairly and transparently; this includes ensuring that fee rates reflect the quality and standard of the services which are provided. A further consideration of the state of current care home accommodation will be of value in profiling the extent to which existing care home stock is fit for the future or, alternatively, whether new build developments are a necessary requirement.
