How did African American Patriots contribute to the war? The fought in almost every battle

How did women contribute to the American Revolution? They visited sick and wounded soldiers, supplied food and water, made clothing, and some fought in battles, and wrote about the cause.

What is the main argument of the Declaration of Independence? People are born with rights that cannot be taken away

Why was Thomas Paine’s pamphlet successful in convincing many Americans it was time to part ways with Britain? It was written in a manner and language that was easy to understand.

What Effect did the American victory at Saratoga have on other nations? The victory at Saratoga convinced other nations that the Americans had a chance to win the war. It also convinced them to join the fight an ally themselves with the Americans.

Why did more than 2,500 of Washington’s soldiers die at Valley Forge? His army were short on food and warm clothing. Many soldiers did not have shoes and the died from hunger, cold, and disease.

How did other nations contribute to the American Revolution? Other nations sent ships, soldiers, food, money and some sent men to train the American soldiers.

Why did Cornwallis decide to take his troops north and camp at Yorktown? He grew tired of chasing Greene across North and South Carolina and decided to set up camp in the north.

Why did Washington decide to go to Yorktown instead of attacking the British in New York City. He realized that if he joined forced with the French navy and Greene’s army they could surround the British.

How did the Treaty of Paris create a new set of challenges for the Americans? They needed to form a government and make decisions about slavery and Native Americans.
