General Safety continued Keep your material tight against the table Do not race through the blade Keep your hands out of the blade path (off to one side) Clear scrap or cut material with a brush, other scrap material, or your project from the table. Do not use your hands.

Guard Should be 1/8” to ¼” above the material being cut

Ripping Ripping is defined as cutting along the materials length OR cutting with the grain.

Cross cutting Cross cutting is defined as cutting the material’s length OR cutting across the grain.

Mitering A miter is defined as cutting the material’s length at an angle OR cutting across the grain at an angle.

Resawing Resawing is defined as cutting the material’s thinckness

Freehand cutting Freehand cutting is defined as cutting on the bandsaw without the use of a guide to cuts arcs, angles, etc.

Operation Procedure 1 1. Make sure the guard is 1/8” to ¼” above the stock.

Operation Procedure 2 2. Make sure one side is flat on the material.

Operation Procedure 3 Make sure one FACE one EDGE are flat on the material when CROSSCUTTING, RIPPING, and RESAWING.

Operation Procedure 4 4. Turn the machine on and begin cutting. Use RELIEF CUTS when cutting narrow internal arcs on the bandsaw. Leave your line for sanding purposes
