Topographic Map Tricks

Trick #1 Contour Lines can never cross or intersect.

Trick #2 Lines close together = ____Steep______ Lines far apart = ____Gentle______

Contour Interval = Distance between each line Trick #5 Contour Interval = Distance between each line HOW TO CALCULATE…? Take two numbers and Subtract Take the difference and divide by number of lines. That is your contour interval!
