© 2010 IBM Corporation4 Using EA to enable a Globally Integrated Enterprise: Lessons Learned  Global integration efforts require support, engagement and accountability by senior leadership (both business and IT).  Common processes must be defined and supported by a global structure, governance, measurements, IT platforms and a shared culture.  A common Enterprise Architecture is a critical enabler of globalization, linking business processes, applications, information and supporting infrastructure. It guides us in choosing the right thing to do to support common processes.  Be diligent in sunsetting legacy systems and tools. You can’t simplify global processes without sunsetting legacy.  Use collaborative technologies to speed transformation. Collaborative technologies promote agility and effectiveness, reduce cost, stimulate innovation and enable immediate globally reach.  Enterprise Architecture and Process skills and methodologies are critical to enterprise-wide process integration. Lessons learned
