Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a composer. He was born in Salzburg Austria. He was a child PRODIGY! Can you find Salzburg on this map?

He wrote many kinds of music and wrote LOTS of it! Mozart loved nice clothes, good food and hanging out with his friends which kept him in need of money. It is one of the reasons he composed so much music! Mozart’s last opera was Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute).

Mozart was a very sick child. His father, Leopold, was relentless in making Mozart practice for hours on end. Fortunately, Mozart loved music and was a child prodigy! His father, would take little Amadeus on all sorts of tours, showing him off and making him play for the royal courts Europe.

Mozart was born in 1756 and died in He was only 35 years old! He was a popular composer, but died without any money and was buried in an unmarked pauper’s grave. Today, over 200 years later, Mozart’s music is enjoyed and performed by adults and children around the world!
