2. Curriculum 2. Curriculum Study Programme in Fruit Growing and Viticulture aims to provide graduates with knowledge and skills that will enable them to continue studying at II cycle (Master Program) or to get employed in the agricultural and food sector. The graduates will have profile of university educated and professionally competent person. They will have integrative knowledge and understanding of scientific disciplines related to production of food, capability of transfering knowledge and skills necessary for production and distribution of quality and safe food stuff of plant origin.

Fruit growing and viticulture - Tasks Use of interactive methods of transfer and adoption of knowledge with task to provide students with: The profile of university edacated and professionally competent person; The knowledge and understanding of all basic disciplines related to production of fruit and wine; Ability to apply acquired knowledge and transfer it to production and distribution of relevant products Understanding and adopting basic scientific methods necessary for life-long learning.

Fruit growing and viticulture – provided capabilities A. General competences and skills : 1. General intelectual capabilities (critical approach to the sources and information; identifying, solving and asessing problems; individual planning, realization and presentation of activities; ability to apply acquired knowledge to new situations and problems) 2. General transferable competences and skills (written and oral presentation and communication; data’ gathering, classification and processing; computing skills; capability of team-working; IT and foreign languages use; making ethic-based decission with responsibility to employer, community and environment)

B. Professional competences and skills: 1. General professional competences and skills (general knowledge of fundamental sciences relevant for the field; understanding and adopting basic principles in soil science, ecology, climatology, plant physiology, fruit and wine production’ technology, quality control, food safety, national and international legislation and standards, understanding ecological aspect of primary agricultural production). 2. Specific professional competences and skills (planing, organization, monitoring of fruit and wine production; plant protection from biotic and abiotic factors; plant fertilization; legislation in seed and seedling production and distribution; genetics in fruit and wine breeding; genetic resource preservation; conducting actions aimed to environment protection) Fruit growing and viticulture – provided capabilities

B. Sc. In Fruit growing and viticulture – forseen professional positions Positions with full autonomy: Technolog on farm specialized for fruit, wine, decorative plants and seedlings’ production; Administrative tasks related to fruit, wine, decorative plants and seedlings’ production; Extension services; Consulting offices; Teaching tasks in related secondary schools.

B. Sc. In Fruit growing and viticulture – forseen professional positions Positions with limited autonomy: Assistant technologist in the orchard or vineyard; Control of the fruit, wine and decorative plant’ production on the complex farms; Administrative tasks on the complex farms; Administrative tasks in the local, cantonal, entity or the state administration units and offices. Positions in GO and NGO oriented to plant production and environment.

Correspondence between objectives and the content of the program Aimed competences and knowledge are introduced by corresponding mandatory and elective subjects. I and II semester - mandatory modules - general knowledge necessary for understanding and adopting knowledge and skills for following semesters III, IV, V, VI scientific and professional disciplines III, IV, V, VI elective modules, according to interests and professional orientation. All information on of mandatory and elective modules, grades, lessons and credit pints are presented in Diploma Supplement.

Correspondence between objectives and the content of the program Individual general knowledge and skills: Mathematics with biometrics; Foreign language and Sport. Scientific basis for professional modules: Botany, Genetics, Chemistry, Climatology, Microbiology in agriculture, Biochemistry, Physiology. Basic and general knowledge in agricultural sciences related to plant production: Soil genesis and eco-system, Soil ameliorations, Soil science, agricultural machinery, Phytopathology, Plant nutrition, General Entomology, Plant breeding, Ampelography.

Correspondence between objectives and the content of the program Special professional knowledge: General viticulture, General fruit growing, Basics in landscape planning, Fruit and grape seeding production, Decorative plants and parks, Special fruit growing, Fruit post-harvest technology, Fruit and vine protection. Knowledge required for planning, organizing, analysing and solving economic problems in fruit growing and viticulture: Agricultural policy and legislation, Agricultural markets, Costs and calculations and Farm management Defined number of credit points through elective modules from the Faculty open lists of elective modules.

Students – conditions for admission At least secondary school, no limitation Students are rated on the basis of: ◦ Grades in Bosnian languages, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology for every class of secondary school; ◦ General average grade in secondary school; ◦ Results on admission exam; ◦ Admission exam in Bology – written; ◦ At least 50% on admission exam – conditio sine qua non

Complaining system Issue regulated by the Law on Higher Education; Student need to submit appeal within 24 hours after exam ih complaint refers to it; For all other complaints vice-dean for education is responsible; Complaints solved on the ad hoc basis

Involvement of students Student interview at the end of each semester on regular basis; Representative of students always take part in interwiev conduction, processing and analysis; Interview anonimous; Privacy of both students and teachers guaranteed and protected.
