Option 2 Thesis formula: ___________ is a truer tragic hero than ________________, because he better embodies the characteristics of ___________________________. Body Paragraph 1: Okonkwo as a tragic hero Body Paragraph 2: Creon as a tragic hero Body Paragraph 3: Who is a truer tragic hero and why?

Writing is effortful! Today you will work on your rough draft. Do not aim for perfection – it’s okay to produce a rough draft that needs a lot of work. Think of today as a ‘brain dump’ where you get all your ideas down on paper so you can choose what works best for your final copy. Give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft” You will also do some peer feedback. No negative comments today, only positive feedback about parts of the essay that are working  no judgments!

Appointment Calendar On your appointment calendar, find a different classmate for each of the four appointments. You must be the same appointment number for each other

4 th Round - Intro 20 minutes to write your introduction paragraph (include ‘hook/attention getter, thesis, and preview of 3 main points) If you finish before time is up, look back over it and try to add more When this is done, look for quotes for your body paragraphs

4 th Round - Intro 5 minutes to give and get feedback with your Appointment #4 o Does the introduction include a thesis and preview the main points? o Does it have a ‘hook’ that draws you in while you read it?

5 th Round - Conclusion 15 minutes to write conclusion paragraph (include restatement of thesis and main points, and an interesting idea that leaves an impression upon the reader.

5 th Round - Conclusion 5 minutes to get and give feedback from your Appointment #1 o How well is their argument concluded or wrapped up? o Does the final sentence leave a strong impression upon the reader?
