Freja Ulvestad Kärki Project manager Norwegian Directorate of Health On behalf of the Norwegian Donor Programme Partner

 Provide you some reflections and pictures from a Journey  Make a connection between

What is often the most demanding part of a program or a project?

Yes, to

…or to start with

…but listing up the deliverables would not give a rightful picture of the process and the impact Still – here are some:

 The outcomes are measured by mutually re-enforcing indicators, including awareness-raising, available statistics and quality of services provided  A higher level of services provided to victims of violence and trafficking, were carried forward by several different project promoters  Trainings and network events of staff from all the 13 shelters of Estonia, with special training for personnel operating the hotline  Group sessions for victims and trainings for staff running these  Self-help groups for victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation  Roundtable events in cooperation with the Norwegian partner  Trainings focusing on children victim of violence  Material on children with special needs and deviant sexual behavior  A telephone service for adults with deviant sexual behavior established  A hotline for victims of trafficking  Several of the trainings also addressed judges, lawyers, teachers, university educators and police  Multidisciplinary approach to a rehabilitation service for victims of sexual violence To be continued…

In the preceding years there were concerns about the delay of the implementation phase, but in 2015 the program gained momentum, some target values and expectations were even exceeded. DPP and PO has enjoyed another year of successful cooperation. We are happy to join our partners in their evaluation

It is easy to get enthusiastic when describing our very qualified partners on the different levels, their devotion and sustainable work during these years. We also know that the collaboration will continue…

For us this has been a fantastic journey and we want to thank all you who have made and make the life in Estonia somewhat more worth living for a great number of women exposed to domestic and gender- based violence Among these  Sotsiaalministeerium - our program partner with extraordinary collaborational qualities  All the project partners in Estonia and Norway who made their competency available in this important process  The Estonian high-level policy makers who gave a very close follow-up for the program and increased the visibility of it  Our own Embassy in Tallinn, supportive in all times
