nSQP’s + design implications D. Giugni / INFN Milano D. Giugni nSQP's meeting 1

PP0 Mapping D. Giugni nSQP's meeting2

Focusing on C side – as it is now- D. Giugni nSQP's meeting3 All positions 3 & 4 on OSP-Bm and OSP-Tp are loaded with B-bundles The rest is loaded with D-Bundles. Note that: – L1 and D2 go all to the ISP –BL (L0) go all to pos 3 and 4 in OSP-Bm and OSP-Tp –L2, D1, D3 map to the other location In some cases Pos 3 &4 are loaded with Disk module. Not all pos 3 and 4 have BL modules but they have always B-bundles

Focusing on C side – as it is now- The two locations of the Optoboxes preserves the US/USA symmetry required to route the services to the correct PP2. D. Giugni nSQP's meeting4

Focusing on C side – as it is now- D. Giugni nSQP's meeting5 11 BL modules with B-Bundles 4 Disk modules with B-Bundles 50 L1, D1, D3 modules with D-Bundles 2 L1 modules with D-Bundles + adapter B-box height

How the thing change for nSQP + D. Giugni nSQP's meeting6 Standard NSQP NSQP + L1 and D2 had D-Bundles L1 and D2 Now have B-Bundles L2 and D1 and D3 had D-Bundles L2 and D1 and D3 keep D-Bundles BL and some D had B-Bundles BL and some D keep B-Bundles

Changes at the OptoBoxes place D. Giugni nSQP's meeting7 The D Boxes stuck is replaced by a B-Box One of the D box is moved “somewhere else” Boxes populated like this.. 11 BL modules with B-Bundles 4 Disk modules with B-Bundles 13 L1, D2 modules with B-Bundles 10 L1, D2 modules with B-Bundles 12 L1 and D2 modules with D-Bundles + adapter 17 L1 and D2 modules with D-Bundles + adapter

Candidates places for the new location D. Giugni nSQP's meeting8 New location for the D-OptoBoxes

Why it can fit... Single D- Optobox 40mm height only!!! Very few services D. Giugni nSQP's meeting9

In conclusion... There should be no problem to load B-Bundles in the ISP. Preliminary evaluations are positive! No design changes are required to the optoboard or optobox hardware. The available space for the new D-OptoBox can be checked on the 3D scan... but – even if they fit. Is this enough to make a decision without checking in situ? –Still we do not know whether ATLAS will be opened for the next shut down (Dec 2011). It looks anyway too late for us. –In case we decide to go with the nSQP +, then we better make sure to have a solution for the new D-optoboxes. D. Giugni nSQP's meeting10
