Two Way Table

DAY 2 Two Way Table

Review Complete the two-way table for 9 th grader’s school transportation survey:

Percent 2 Types of Percentages: 1) Part/Sample Size ex: “What percentage are girls and walk to school?” In this example we are comparing the number of girls who walk to school to the total number of students.

Percent 2 Types of Percentages: 2) Part/Marginal Total ex: “What percentage of girls walk to school?” However in this example we are already GIVEN that the students we are looking for are girl.

Examples 1) What percentage are males who ride the bus? 2) What is the percentage of males who bike to school? 3) Find the relative frequency of males who walk to school to the whole ninth grade class. 4) Find the relative frequency of females who bike to school to total number of females. 5) Find the probability that a girl will ride the bus. 6) Find the probability that a student is a boy and will take a car.

More with Relative Frequency Sometimes the percentages are left in decimal form. Below is the result of a survey about whether students should be required to wear school uniforms. a) What percentage are teens and are in favor of wearing uniforms? b) If there were 300 people surveyed, how many of them were parents? How many parents are for uniforms?
