March 7 th, 2016 Learning Target Today I will review for my 3 rd 9 Weeks exam Why? So I can pass my 3 rd nine weeks exam Warm Up Name all the human body systems we have learned so far and give me a brief (sentence long) summary about what each one of them does for the human body.

What is the function of the mitochondria? Gives Energy to cells

What let’s things in and out of the cell? Cell Membrane

What are the three things plant cells have that animal cells do not Cell Wall, Chloroplast, Large Vacuole

What is the difference between prokaryote and eukaryotes? Pro EU No NucleusNucleus Single CelledMulticelled/Uni DNA floats aroundDNA in Nucleus

Tell me the difference of the vacuoles in plants and animal cells? Plants= Large Vacuole Animal= Small Vacuole

What are the three types of muscle tissue? Skeletal, Smooth, and Cardiac

What is the function of the muscular system? To move your body parts

Can you move your bones without your muscles No, muscles are attached to your bones which allow your bones to move

What systems does the muscular system work with? Circulatory(Cardiovascular), Respiratory, Digestive, Skeletal

Give an example of a muscle that you know? Tricep, Bicep, Quadricep, Hamstring, Gluteus Maximus, etc.

What are the organs of the skeletal system Bones

What is the function of the skeletal system? Protect organs, give framework to your body, help your body move.

Are our bones hollow or dense? Dense, hollow bones only happen in birds and maybe fish.

How many bones are in our body? 206, 270 in babies.

What bones protect our lungs? Ribs or Ribcage

What are the organs of the circulatory system? Heart, blood, vessels

What is the function of the circulatory system? To provide oxygen to the rest of our body cells

What is located in our blood that helps heals wounds? Platelets, white blood cells.

How long do our white blood cells live? days

What systems does the circulatory system work with? Muscular, Digestive, Skeletal, Respiratory

What are the organs of the respiratory system? Larynx( voice box), Trachea(wind pipe), Bronchial Tubes, Lungs, alveoli

What is the function of the respiratory system? To bring in oxygen we inhale and get rid of carbon dioxide we exhale.

Where does the process of breathing begin? Mouth

What do we inhale NOT AIR Oxygen

What do we exhale? NOT AIR Carbon Dioxide
