Introduction What is Google Cardboard? VCSS Conference LEF Grant for class set; cost $10-$20 each Permission slips to download apps and/or share device with other students Used them as a station activity Excitement among students – they didn't want to leave that station! some students bought their own

How To Use Google Cardboard: Google StreetView Download the FREE app: Google Streetview Open the app and search for a location (e.g. Statue of Liberty National Monument, New York) Tap on the search result, a map will appear with red dots and a yellow "pegman" The red dots are panoramic photos and the pegman allows you to walk around that area You can also see previews of the results on the bottom of the screen Previews with the Google Maps logo allow you to walk around; the others are user- created photos Click on the first preview at the bottom, tap the Google Cardboard icon in the top right corner (it looks like a mask), and turn your device sideways Put your device into the Google Cardboard and hold it up to your eyes You can turn around and look up and down by moving your body naturally To move forward, push the button on the top of the Google Cardboard when you see the arrows on the ground

How to Use Google Cardboard: Homido Player Download the FREE app: Homido 360 VR Player Open the app and tap "Internet Browser" Tap "Youtube" Tap the magnifying glass to search for a topic; 360 video will appear by default and should be left there (e.g. type WWII after 360 video) Click on a search result (e.g Battle) A menu will appear after the video loads; make no changes other than tapping "flat" to change it to "360" Turn your device sideways, load it into the Google Cardboard, and interact with the video You can turn around and look up and down, just as in Google StreetView If you wish to change any settings after turning your device sideways, you must use the menu on the left
