Review homework on Students’ Greenhouse Effect Diagram In pairs can you think of 3 negative effects of climate change (global warming)?

Negative Effects of Climate Change To be able to demonstrate knowledge of climate change effects.

1) To be able to describe basic details of the negative effects of climate change. 2) To be able to describe with detail and explain the negative effects of climate change. 3) To apply detail and explanation to a variety of different types of negative effect with reference to location.

To be able to describe basic details of the negative effects of climate change. What categories of negative effect could we find? How could explain a link between these categories? (If there is an effect upon………… this in turn leads to an effect upon…………)

To be able to describe with detail and explain the negative effects of climate change. Arrange then copy these three detailed explanations. One Category, one Location, one fact. CHANGING PATTERNS OF CROP YIELDS THREAT TO LOW LYING COASTAL AREAS – E.G PACIFIC ISLANDS AND NEW YORK. RISING SEA LEVELS HAPPENS NEAR THE EQUATOR – EG IN TANZANIA RETREATING GLACIERS 90% OF ANTARCTICALost a third of maize due to hotter and drier climate. 88cm rise by the end of the century. Melt water deflects thee Gulf Stream making Europe colder.

To apply detail and explanation to a variety of different types of negative effect with reference to location. Task: use the map on the next slide. All location examples have been highlighted for you. Develop four annotations for different places making sure that the effects are from different categories. You can use any of the 11 examples on page 17 or 18. Use the computer to add photo (MUST), hyperlink to more case study detail (SHOULD), video link (COULD).

Now complete and mark the exam question
