Course frameworks

Quality courses All Higher Education (HE) courses in England are monitored by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). In 2001 they published The framework for higher education qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland which offers descriptions or frameworks for all different levels of study. The framework for higher education qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland All our courses use these frameworks to design your learning and our teaching. For us, learning in Higher Education is much more than just learning the content of a subject.

Modules and credits

Gaining credits To successfully study in higher education you will be guided by tutors, study by yourself and take assessments. Successfully undertaking 200 hours of learning combining all these things would earn you 20 credits.

Learning outcomes (LO’s) Modules have learning outcomes (LO’s) LO’s are statements of what you will be able to demonstrate when you have successfully completed a module, e.g. 1 Critically analyse a report, 2 apply theory to practice, 3 present information to different audiences, 4 evaluate the effectiveness of strategies LO’s are assessed. Activities in a module help you take its assessments and achieve its LO’s
