What is the nitrogen cycle? The process by which nitrogen and its compounds are changed to useable forms in the environment and in living organisms, including nitrogen fixation and decomposition.

Explain how fixation of nitrogen helps nitrogen enter living organisms. Nitrogen fixation is a process where nitrogen in the air is converted into nitrates. Nitrogen fixation helps with nitrogen intake of organisms because nitrates are easy to absorb compared to nitrogen gas. Bacteria are the main organisms that can create the nitrates.

Explain what nitrification is Denitrification is essentially the exact opposite of nitrogen fixation. Denitrification is when nitrates are converted back into nitrogen gas. This process completes the “cycle” aspect of the nitrogen cycle

How does human activity hurt or affect the nitrogen cycle? Human activity affects the nitrogen cycle by farmers using a lot of fertilizer. The fertilizer goes into the ground and too much of it will create run off. Which would cause floods. Also bringing you to slide 8 if too much nitrogen gets into the water it could kill all the fish and water creatures.

What are the effects of industrial waste on rain? How does it affect the nitrogen cycle? Humans are the main reason of acid rain. Over the past few hundred years humans have released so many different chemicals into the air that they have changed the mix of gas in the atmosphere. Power plants release the most sulfur dioxide. Some of the nitrogen oxides they burn are fossil fuels, such as coal to create electricity. In addition the exhaust from cars, trucks, and sulfur dioxide being released into the air are pollutions which cause acid rain.

What is Eutrophication? Eutrophication is essentially too much of a good thing, this thing being nutrients (nitrogen). Too many nutrients in a lake or other body of water is called eutrophication. This access of nutrients lowers the oxygen level in the water and kills water dwelling creatures.

Short answer. Who uses the most nitrogen and why? Farmers use the most nitrogen because nitrogen is one of the main ingredients in fertilizer's and farmers use up to 500kg a year. Nitrogen helps things grow bigger and faster.
