How to Access Catamaran

Forget the link? ◦Access Catamaran from the new training site: training.catamaran.partnerstraining.catamaran.partners Can’t find us? ◦Make sure you didn’t include “.com” or ”.org” at the end of the address ◦Make sure you included the “s” in 811/19/15

If you were a CIMS user before September 1, your username may have already been preloaded into Catamaran. ◦ CIMS users whose usernames were preloaded received an reminding them of their usernames. ◦ If you did not receive an like this, follow the steps to request a new username and password. ◦ If you are not a Catamaran coordinator for an ISD, we ask that you wait to request credentials. Go to and click “Sign in” Current CIMS Users: Sign In 1011/19/15

You will need to reset your password on the login page. A link will be ed to the address associated with your CIMS account. Current CIMS Users: Reset password 1111/19/15

You will be asked to enter an verification code. This code will be sent to the address associated with your account. Current CIMS Users: Log in to Catamaran 1211/19/15

Enter the verification code on the Catamaran validation page and click “Submit.” Select the checkbox “Remember this device” to make logging in faster next time. Current CIMS Users: Validation 1311/19/15

Go to and click “New User.” New Users: Username 1411/19/15

Complete the New User Request form and click “Save” at the bottom of the screen. This username and password will grant you access to Catamaran after you have requested a role and location, but you will need to wait for approval to see any reports or activities. New Users: New User Request 1511/19/15

Sign in at with your username and password. You will be asked to enter an verification code. This code will be sent to the address associated with your account. New Users: Log in to Catamaran 1611/19/15

Enter the verification code on the Catamaran validation page and click “Submit.” Select the checkbox “Remember this device” to make logging in faster next time. All Users: Validation 1711/19/15

Click on your name at the top of the screen. This will allow you to edit your information. New Users: Manage Your Profile 1811/19/15

Scroll to the bottom of the page to request access to a new location and role. Click “Select Location.” Manage Your Profile: Locations 1911/19/15

If you are a Catamaran coordinator, search for the service area in which you will be working. This will show you an abbreviated list of possible districts. Click the “Set” button next to your district. This will allow you to see your district’s information; for example, Clinton County RESA (District). All Catamaran coordinators for service areas should be associated with the district. ISD monitors will be associated with the ISD, but this role is not ready yet. Manage Your Profile: Location Selector 2011/19/15

Select your role using the drop-down menu and click “Save” to save your role and location. Manage Your Profile: Select a Role 2111/19/15

◦ Catamaran coordinator – This is the role most users will choose. This is equivalent to a CIMS coordinator. All districts and service areas must have at least one Catamaran coordinator. These users can see all of the reports and activities for their district, and they can submit all required work. ◦ ISD monitor – ISD monitors can see all of the reports and activities for all of the districts in their ISD. They can also complete forms and enter data, and they can submit all required work. ◦ MDE official : Only staff at the MDE will be approved for MDE official access. ◦ District leader: If you are a superintendent, select this role. ◦ Catamaran user: Can see all of the reports and activities for their district. Also can complete forms and enter data; however, unlike a Catamaran coordinator, they are not able to submit work on behalf of their district. ◦ MDE user – Staff working on behalf of MDE as FM Team members or TA providers should request MDE user access. ◦ ISD user – Can see all of the reports and activities for all of the districts in their ISD. They can also complete forms and enter data; however, unlike an ISD monitor, they are not able to submit work. Manage Your Profile: Not sure what role? 2211/19/15

I’m a former CIMS user but I can’t log on. ◦ We were not able to preload all users. Please follow steps for creating a new account. I didn’t receive a verification code . ◦ Refresh your inbox. ◦ Check your Spam and Junk folders in your . ◦ Click “Forgot Password” on the login page and enter your address. ◦ Click “Forgot Username” on the login page and enter your address. ◦ Call the Help Desk: ( ) I submitted my location and role request, but I haven’t been approved yet. ◦ If you have not been approved for your role and location within three days of submitting your request, please contact he Help Desk. To review the reports listed, click on the hyperlinked report name. ◦ This will bring up a pdf to print and share as needed.
