Personal Characteristics Let’s Discuss each individually:

Empathy Being able to identify with and understand another person’s feelings, situation, and motives.

Honesty Fairness and straightforwardness of conduct; adherence to the facts. Truthfulness and integrity are important in any career field.

Dependability value showing the reliability of a person to others because of his/her integrity, truthfulness, and trustfulness, traits that can encourage someone to depend on him/her. This included being prompt to work and maintaining a good attendance record.

Willingness to Learn Exhibits initiative and motivation; seeks increased responsibilities. Exhibits energy and foresight in evaluating and responding to challenging situations, problems and opportunities.

Patience The quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like. Must be able to be tolerant and understanding, control temper, and overcome obstacles.

Acceptance of Criticism An essential part of self development; mechanism to help us constantly improve our work and relationships. It's different from the feedback we give each other naturally in that it is more deliberate. Everyone has some areas where performance can be improved.

Enthusiasm Strong excitement of feeling, something inspiring, zeal, or fervor. Enjoy your work and display a positive attitude. It is contagious.

Self-motivation what causes us to take action through energy, will power, and purpose. Set goals for yourself and work to reach those goals.

Tact sensitive mental or aesthetic perspective; a keen sense of what to do or say in order to maintain a good relation with others or avoid offense. Having the ability to say or do the kindest or most fitting thing in a difficult situation.

Competence Sufficiency of means for necessities and conveniences of life, being knowledgeable in order to understand or explain. Qualified and capable of performing a task.

Responsibility moral, legal, or mental accountability. Willing to be held accountable for your actions. Others can rely on you. You do what you are supposed to do.

Direction Guidance or supervision of action or conduct

Discretion Must always use good judgment in what you say and do. Information should not be told to anyone without proper authorization. Confidential care.
