 The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh.  The money used is called the pound sterling.  The population of Scotland is 4,996,000.  The language spoken is English and Gaelic  Scotland is part of the United Kingdom.  Many Scottish names start with Mac or Mc  The symbol of Scotland is a thistle

 Stirling Castle Stirling Castle is from medieval times and is near Edinburgh. It is open to visitors.

Standing Stones of Callanish on the Isles of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides off the West Coast of Scotland. These were erected around 2000 BC in a cross-shaped setting and are one of the most spectacular megalithic monuments in Scotland. Ancient Stones

Scottish families are called clans and each clan has a special plaid to show what their family is. These are the plaids on their kilts.  Bagpipers - people who play the bagpipes, a traditional Scottish instrument

 Scots celebrate many holidays. It’s famous for the world’s biggest New Year party when people sing “Auld Lang Syne”.
