Chapter 4: Growth and Reproduction 4.1 Life Cycles

We are going to be learning about 1.Folios and Test Results 2.Excursion 3.Pre quiz 4.Human Lifecycles 5.Metamorphosis in lifecycles and Insect Lifecycles

Pre quiz 1. How many parents are needed for asexual reproduction? 2. What is a clone? 3. Explain why identical twins don’t act identically 4. Explain what fertilisation is 5. Explain why we have belly buttons 6. What is an ultrasound machine used for?

What is a life cycle? Read p132 and find out what is meant by the cycle of life. Make a cartoon to show your life cycle so far in four steps.

HW – Science for fun Can you see a life cycle in your garden? Take photos or draw a picture of various stages of a life cycle in your back garden. Print pictures of the photos at home or post them on my on my website under year 8. We will discuss our findings on Monday.

Insect Lifecycles - Butterfly A butterfly's’ life cycle shows complete change in its structure over the various stages of its life cycle. It is said to show metamorphosis. butterfly metamorphosis

Insect life cycles - Grasshopper grasshopper life cycle A grasshopper has a incomplete metamorphosis lifecycle as its structure does not completely change.
