The Process The Distributive Property is used to regroup a numerical expression or a polynomial with two or more terms by multiplying each value or term of the polynomial. The resulting sum is an equivalent numerical or algebraic expression. Algebraically, the Distributive Property is expressed as: a(b + c) = ab + ac and (b + c)a = ba + ca Example 2( x + 4) = (2  x) + (2  4 ) = 2 x + 8
