Ceremonies & Traditions  FFA mission: “to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.”  How can we accomplish the FFA’s mission?!?

Ceremonies & Traditions  Opening and closing ceremonies  rituals that add dignity to a meeting  allow meetings to run efficiently  explain the meaning of certain traditional emblems

Opportunities in the FFA  Officers and committees  How can those experiences can be used in the environmental and natural resources industry?

Opportunities in the FFA  President –preside over wildlife association meetings  Secretary – keep minutes of meetings of special committees for soil conservation service  Treasurer – keep financial records for fundraising activity of Duck’s Unlimited  Reporter – serve on Adopt-A-Stream public relations committee

Opportunities in the FFA  Program of activities - helps in setting goals and developing plans and steps to reach those goals  Career development events - speaking events, parliamentary procedure to learn how to participate in business meetings, skills events such as Envirothon and Forestry  Proficiency awards - entrepreneurship or placement individual awards growing out of a student’s SAE program  Banquets, conventions, special events, community service…
