The Earth’s Systems There are 4 main Earth systems that all interact with one another.

Geosphere Area from the surface of the Earth down to its center. –Made up of four parts: Crust – outer shell Mantle – in between Core - innermost layer

Atmosphere Gases that surround the Earth 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, 1% Other (Water Vapor, Argon, Carbon Dioxide, Trace Gases) Provides us with oxygen, protects us from radiation, keeps temperatures suitable

Hydrosphere All of the water on Earth and in the atmosphere 97% salt water, 3% freshwater (most in glaciers)

Biosphere All organisms on Earth and the environments in which they live All systems depend and interact with one another!
