FACT SHEET Heilbronn Mall - Stuttgart Reduction in Cooling Energy achieved. Less Chiller running Hours. Reduction in Heating Energy. Carbon reduction achieved. Over 70% Energy recovery Summer & winter with no cross contamination. Competition for business within the retail sector has recently increased sharply, placing increased pressure on businesses to drive-down costs in order to maintain profit margins. There is increasing pressure on retailers to meet targets to reduce their CO 2 emissions. One obvious answer for both these issues is the reduction of energy consumption by applying modern sustainable technologies The solution is found by using FlaktWoods Econet ® system combined with eac’s unique Aquacool ® R ecovery Package. The advantage of Econet is that it combines all energy functions, recovery, heating and cooling are integrated into one package. Combined with Aquacool recovery system the resultant increased efficiency in heat transfer means far lower hot water temperatures (40/30˚C ) and far higher chilled water temperatures (14/18˚C) can be utilised. Design & Performance data : Summer Design Load was based on 28˚C 50% RH with a supply temperature of 18˚C Flaktwoods has supplied the air handling requirements for the new Stadtgalerie Helibronnt Shopping Centre in Germany. Stadtgalerie Helibronn has approximately 13,000m² of retail space, on three shopping levels containing 70 shops. Flaktwoods has supplied and fitted the centre’s entire air handling requirements. In total 14 supply & exhaust EU Airt Handling Units, equipped with Econet, have been installed. These modular Air Handling Units are highly specified, and designed for customers with a focus on quality & energy efficiency. Each unit has been optimised for acoustic and efficiency requirements. And with Econet inside, all energy functions, such as heat recovery, heating & cooling are integrated into one common circuit, making it probably the most flexable and energy efficient solution on the market today. Additional benefits of Econet are Shorter air handling units, due to no need for additional heating and cooling coil. Possibility of no mechanical cooling dependant on building design. Further capital cost and energy savings due smaller Boiler, Chiller, Pumps, pipework etc. Can be used with ground source heat pumps due to higher Chilled water and lower hot water temperatures'.
