The Respiratory System
Respiratory System. Respiration – Breathing – intake of oxygen and expel of carbon dioxide – Cellular respiration – cell making ATP – Exchange of gases.
Respiratory System IN comes the OXYGEN, OUT goes the CARBON DIOXIDE!
The respiratory system consists of the lungs and air passages. It is responsible for taking in oxygen, a gas needed by all body cells and removing carbon.
Breathing  The primary function of breathing is to supply the blood with oxygen  Oxygen is needed by every cell in the body to release the energy from.

Structure and function of the respiratory system
The Respiratory System The process of breathing in is called inhalation or inspiration. The process of breathing out is called exhalation or expiration.
Respiratory System: body system that brings oxygen from the air into the body for delivery via the blood to cells. Once delivered, it picks up carbon.
The Respiratory System
Respiratory System Breathing Is the movement of air into and out of the lungs Allows your respiratory system to take in oxygen and eliminate carbon.
By kirstie ‘n’ georgi. Respiration is a process in the body which generates energy from the breakdown of food. Apt is made from food by a series of metabolic.
The Respiratory System. What is the Purpose? The respiratory system allows oxygen to enter the blood and carbon dioxide to exit the blood. We would not.

Preliminary PDHPE Core 2 The Body in Motion The Respiratory System

 1. Functions of the Respiratory System  To enrich the blood and supply the cells and subsequently the body with oxygen for cellular respiration.  To remove toxic carbon dioxide, produced by cellular respiration, from the blood and body.

Structure of the respiratory System  Lungs - Large paired organs in the thoracic cavity.  Bronchi – Tubes branching from the trachea which carry air to and from the lungs. They continue to branch into smaller secondary and tertiary bronchi and finally into bronchioles. This network is often referred to as the bronchial tree.  Alveoli – Tiny sacs in the lungs that are the site of gaseous exchange. rt/lungs/top.html

Structure of the Respiratory System  Alveoli – Tiny sacs in the lungs that are the site of gaseous exchange.

Respiratory Function .Respiration involves the following processes; Pulmonary ventilation – movement of air into the alveoli. Pulminary diffusion – exchange of gases in the blood Transportation of Gases - movement of gases in the blood to the cells Internal respiration – exchange of gases from the blood to the cells
