The son of a military family, General McChrystal had strong military role models. His grandfather started his military services as a soldier during world war 1 and his father had a long and distinguished career in the United States Army rising to the rank of Major General. 5 of 8

Steve Risseeuw remarks 1 p.m. General McChrystal’s own military career started at West Point where he graduated in the class of The General is a Ranger, a Green Beret, and lead our special operations forces as the head of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). In addition, he is the former commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan. A one-of-a-kind commander with a remarkable record of achievement, General Stanley McChrystal is widely praised for creating a revolution in warfare that fused intelligence and operations using technology to create a “shared consciousness”. 6 of 8
