Make Do and Mend! Civilians were encouraged to use up what they had at home rather than buy new clothing.

Women's Hairstyles

New Accessories Snoods and turbans became popular.

Sportswear The world saw a rise in leisure wear. New pieces included sweaters, denim jeans and t-shirts.

Men's Fashion Men's clothing was regulated as well. Most men wore actual military clothing.

A Brand New Look Dior’s 1947 Spring Collection ushered in a new era for fashion. This silhouette was radically different from the WWII Era styles.

Femininity is Back The New Look was reminiscent of the fashion of the early 1900’s.
