Abolitionist Movement People worked together to end slavery, many also took risks to help slaves escape. – Some were against slavery for religious reasons – slavery was morally wrong – it went against the right to liberty for which the American Revolution had been fought

Frederick Douglass a former slave who escaped slavery at the age of 20 He published a newspaper called the North Star
