Reasons For Student Comm. Arts classes will be using the anti- plagiarism program “Turn It In” –Students must have an address to turn in assignments –This program helps teachers determine if the students’ work is original or borrowed from someone else either intentionally or unintentionally.

Protection For Students using Liberty Public Schools Teachers and district administrators reserve the right to monitor all use of student accounts. What you send and receive is not private. Content of all must abide by all school guidelines and policies. Consequences of inappropriate use of student may include, but are not limited to; loss of computer privileges, alternative assignments, detention, ISS, and OSS.
Protection For Students using Liberty Public Schools Non-district will be blocked for students during the school day beginning in –Educational Web mail will be allowed (taking online classes) –Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. will be blocked during the school day.
Students Using District Students in grades 5 – 12 will be using Liberty Public Schools as part of the Instructional Technology Curriculum. A letter to the parents will be sent home explaining how and why student will be used. Parents will receive an explanation of discipline procedures for misuse of student .
LPS is Not A timely way for parents to contact students during the day. Parents should still make contact through the main office. A way to forward “e-junk” including chain letters, urban myths, free offers, jokes, etc. A way for students to register on unauthorized web sites. Doing so could result in “Spam” coming into the network. Discuss: What are appropriate uses of ?
Student Address Student’s address will be the following: Example: Students will be able to access their from home. Junior high and senior high students will be able to use their 24/7. This is designed to extend the school day and allow work on school projects when convenient. Middle school and elementary school students will be able to access from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Activating Student Student addresses will be activated on September 5, Beginning on this date, teachers may begin requiring use as part of the required curriculum. Student misuse will not only result in disciplinary action but also alternative assignments.
“Netiquette” of Communication on district should: 1.Use standard English instead of the short cuts and abbreviations used in I.M and text messaging. 2. Use standard spelling. 3. Follow rules of grammar for punctuation, capitalization and sentence structure.
