Dodge Partners with Universal Pictures, Atlantic Records on 'Furious 7'

Dodge has partnered with Universal Pictures and Atlantic Records in a multi-tier marketing initiative. You may spot the Flash to the Future ads on television and the internet. Starring alongside Vin Diesel, you'll find the 2015 Dodge Challenger and the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T. A special edition of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is also on hand for the adventure. "Furious 7," the latest in the Hollywood blockbuster "Fast and Furious" franchise, arrives in theaters April 3.

Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, drives a Candy Red 2015 Dodge Charger as his main ride through many chase scenes. Often called America's only four-door muscle car, the Charger offers a high performance engine with 475 horsepower. This remarkable 6.4-liter V-8 generates 475 lb.-ft. of torque and can accomplish the zero-to-sixty sprint in four seconds.

The Charger's costar is a 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T. This Sublime Green and Black edition is driven by Letty Ortis, played by Michelle Rodrigues. The R/T features a 375-horsepower engine with 410 lb.-ft. of torque. Tej Parker, played by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, handles the wheel of a special armored edition of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Dodge has enjoyed a partnership with Universal Pictures since the first "Fast and Furious" movie, but it's the first time that the car company has partnered with Atlantic Records. The partnership between fast Dodge cars and adrenaline- filled action has fueled the "Fast and Furious" franchise for years, explained Oliver Francois, FCA Chief Marketing Officer. It was only logical to broaden that partnership with an innovative Atlantic Records collaboration that can showcase Dodge's most powerful performance vehicles.

The television ads will promote Furious 7 with clips from the movie alongside new vehicle footage of the 2015 Dodge Challenger. The Flash to the Future ad features a customer who is interested in a Dodge Challenger R/T. In this intense fantasy, he gets more than he expected when he finds himself in a high- octane chase. Alternating between original footage and action scenes from the Furious 7 movie, the customer gets the ride of his life. As the customer returns to reality, the voice-over tells the audience, "It's not Fast and Furious without a Dodge."

For the music videos, Atlantic Records employed the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. With their SRT powertrain generating 707 horsepower, these editions can handle the quarter-mile in 11 seconds. Both offer the muscle car look and race car performance that driving enthusiasts crave, making them a natural choice for music videos about street racing.
