Township of Union Pre-Kindergarten Program The Township of Union Board of Education believes that preschool educational experiences contribute to later academic success for all children. The preschool curriculum shall consist of developmentally appropriate experiences that provide each child with individual opportunities to develop positive self-esteem, social/emotional growth, language skills, motor development and conceptual skill development.

Registration Information Children must be four years of age on or before September 30th of the current school year to be accepted in the Pre- Kindergarten program. Requirements for physical examination and immunization shall be the same as for Kindergarten. Proof of residence and date of birth is required upon registration. A one time fee of $500 is due at registration in the form of a certified check or money order. Registration begins at your home school starting May 2 nd.

Arrival and Dismissal AM Arrival 9:05 AM Dismissal 11:35 PM Arrival 12:35 PM Dismissal 3:05 Arrival and dismissal is at the designated location determined by each individual school. Please remain with your child until the teacher arrives at the pick-up location.

The Creative Curriculum This curriculum is based on the philosophy that young children learn best by doing. The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. Our goal is to help children become independent, self- confident and inquisitive learners.

Get Set For School

Get Set for School Get Set for School is the Pre-K Handwriting Without Tears Program. The program introduces and teaches pre-writing readiness skills through the use of multisensory and developmentally appropriate materials and activities.

Pre-K Themes Lessons are based on themes and concepts: Seasons Holidays Special Events Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies Art Structured Games
