This Faculty was founded in There are 228 faculty staff members, including two academicians, 31 professors and 150 associate professors. All students of the TPU engineering departments receive fundamental training in physics, mathematics, and chemistry at our Faculty. Students of economic and humanities enter and complete natural science programmes. The whole number of students is 5,000 per one term.

Research is focused on the following subject areas: mechanisms of energy dissipation for charged particle beams and plasma fluxes in correlation with a solid; modeling of physicochemical surface properties by plasma coatings; creation of high industrial technologies for ionplasma processing of materials and equipment. The Department is based on Laboratory 23 in the Research Institute of Nuclear Physics. It is committed to preparing bachelors in Physics and masters in PlasmaPhysics, Beam and Plasma Technologies and Hydrogen Energy.

This Department was founded in June 2007 as a result of reorganization of the Institute of Languages and Communication. There are 45 members on the staff, including seven associate professors, 16 senior teachers, and 20 teachers. Seven teachers have international language certificate.
