Blue Ridge Together, Morganton (Grace) and Valdese Hospitals have been serving people throughout our area for nearly 175 years. Blue Ridge is nestled at the gateway to the mountains of Western NC and serves the residents of Burke, Caldwell, and McDowell Counties.

What Makes Blue Ridge We are a not-for-profit community healthcare system, providing advanced healthcare and wellness services from more than 35 locations across a three-county region of Western North Carolina. Our family of services includes hospitals, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, a wellness center, multiple physician practices and a continuing care retirement community.

What Makes Blue Ridge Nearly 100 primary care physicians, physician specialists and extenders in the Blue Ridge Medical Group combine with other physicians on the Medical Staff to serve patients in the region. Blue Ridge's two hospitals provide graduate medical education programs for medical school graduates and students in osteopathic medicine.

What Makes Blue Ridge Our key services reflect the community’s most widespread medical issues: heart disease, cancer, digestive diseases, bone and joint disease, diabetes and women’s health. Physicians in more than 30 specialties serve on our Medical Staff.

What Makes Blue Ridge Is a very transitional unit with 35 beds. Our census mainly consist of the acutely ill cardiac patient and a few med/surg patients that require cardiac monitoring. Patients and families on Telemetry are treated with the utmost respect and compassion by a team of staff who support each other. Telemetry

What Makes Blue Ridge Is a 49 bed unit. It is a very fast-paced unit with much diversity in age and diagnosis. MedSurg offers great opportunities to care for a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The MedSurg team provides outstanding care with abundant compassion. Med/Surg

What Makes Blue Ridge Is a 16 bed unit that also has 4 SCN beds. Patient Satisfaction scores are very high on this unit. Works on all different units. They are very flexible and customer focused. Family Center Float Pool

What Makes Blue Ridge A 16 virtual bed unit with 24/7 critical care nurse coverage and intensivist coverage from 3pm to 6:30 am. ICU has a very active shared governance. ICU

What Makes Blue Ridge Contains a total of 22 Beds. We provide care for adult patients with acute psychiatric needs. Intervention include medication management, individual and group therapy, recreational therapy and substance abuse counseling. A busy unit with a study work pace, BH maintains a 95% occupancy rate throughout the year. Behavioral Health

What Makes Blue Ridge A 14 bed unit providing care for adult patients that desire detoxification from drugs and/or alcohol. The addiction may be the primary reason for admission but many patients present with concurrent medical conditions that require treatment and close monitoring during the detoxification process. Our staff on the unit are great, demonstrating lots of versatility in their skill set and the care they provide. Medical Detox

What Makes Blue Ridge Consists of a 23 bed, full service ED in Morganton, and a 12 bed, free-standing, full service ED in Valdese, both with 24/7 access to expert Emergency physician and nursing care. We offer open accessibility to a full range of local Inpatient and Specialty services, as well as serving as a portal of access to a broad range of advanced care specialty and sub-specialty services and treatment offered through Carolinas HealthCare System. What Makes Blue Ridge We treat over 55,000 patients annually in our Emergency Departments. Our ED’s stand out because of the quality of their people, their caring attitudes, and their commitment to each other and those in our local communities.

What Makes Blue Ridge The Morganton OR has 5 ORs, 1 Endoscopy room, and 1 Cystoscopy room. We have very diverse surgical procedures including spine, total joints, and retinal procedures as well as general/vascular surgery, general orthopedic, ENT, and gynecological surgeries. We are proud of the Safe Surgical care we provide everyday to every patient.
