 Some resources, like oil, can be used up and cannot be replaced unless found in another place (non-renewable)  Other resources, like trees, can be replanted (renewable)  Recycle, reduce, and reuse

 Need: must have to survive  Home, money for food, exercise, school and work clothes for each family member, car to drive to work  Wants: extra things acquired to make life more enjoyable  Use of the family car, cell phone, dessert, newest CD, iPod, private bathroom

 Flexible: Can change from month to month  Phone bill, clothing expenses  Fixed: same every time  monthly car payment

 Planning: to-do-list; use time wisely (time is a non-renewable resource)  Organizing (gather materials)  Implementing (work to complete task)  Evaluating (was plan successful)

 Short-term: plan for something that will happen soon  Decide which dress to buy for prom  Get through the end of the school term  Long-term: plan for something that will happen at a later date  Save to buy a car (set aside money from weekly paycheck)  Graduate from High School  Graduate from college
