What your new Scout needs Provided by Pack Rank Handbook Neckerchief & Slide Purchase Official cub scout uniform shirt (short or long sleeve) Slide (if you would not prefer the official Rank copy) Belt Cap (official or Pack 17) World Scout Crest patch Old Colony Council Shoulder Patch Den patch (varies) Pack number patches (Pack # is 17) Optional Official pants Official socks Pack 17 (Class B) T-shirts and Sweatshirts

Uniforms – Class A (Tiger, Wolf, Bear) Class A – formal uniform Shirt – official blue shirt with insignia and appropriate badges Trousers – official blue, or any blue pants, jeans, shorts Belt – Official Navy Blue and buckle with Rank emblem Socks – Official, or any socks will do Cap – Official cub scout rank cap or Pack 17 cap Neckerchief – triangular, Rank-specific Neckerchief Slide – can get Rank specific or make a homemade one Wear uniforms to all den and pack meetings and most cub scout sponsored events. Assume Class A’s should be worn unless otherwise notified

Tiger Awards and Recognition Bobcat Badge Tiger Badge – 5 “3-part” Achievements Family Den Go See It Electives One bead awarded for every 10 electives completed Can start right away, but can’t receive beads until Tiger Badge received Belt Loops Can be earned and received right away

Wolf Awards and Recognition Bobcat Badge Wolf Badge – 12 Achievements Electives One arrowhead is awarded for every 10 electives completed Can start right away, but can’t receive arrowheads until Wolf Badge received Belt Loops and Pins Can be earned and received right away

Bear Awards and Recognition Bobcat Badge Bear Badge – Various Achievements in 4 categories Electives One arrowhead awarded for every 10 electives completed Can start right away, but can’t receive arrowheads until Bear Badge received Belt Loops and Pins Can be earned and received right away

Webelos Awards and Recognition Bobcat Badge Webelos Badge – Various Activity Badges and other requirements Belt Loops and Pins Can be earned and received right away

All suggestions are welcome Meetings Den Meetings: meetings and outings to work on badge requirements and electives Pack Meetings: once per month meetings of the entire pack – rewards and recognitions given All suggestions are welcome

Den Meeting Format Gathering – as scouts arrive Opening – flag ceremony, promise Share – what scouts have been doing; achievements Discover – theme and activity Closing – reminders, Law of the Pack

Pack Meetings and Events Blue & Gold Banquet Christmas Party Pinewood Derby Raingutter Regatta Chuckwagon Campouts and Barbecues (Brockton Rox, Camp Feinstein, Battleships, Crossover Picnic) Fundraisers (Popcorn Sales and others) Other Events and Activities (Providence Bruins, Rocket Night, Parades)
