Welcome to US Government and Politics Thursday, June 23, 2016 Answer the following question using complete sentences and a minimum of one (3+ sentence) paragraph. If you could create a law, what law would you make and why? 1.Be present at your computer during ALL of class. 2.Have eyes on me and BBC. 3.Ears listening and ready to follow instructions. 4.Keep chat on topic. 5.Use whiteboard tools and programs as directed. This session will be recorded for learning purposes. Learning purposes include: a lesson review for students who are absent, students who want to review for a test, etc. and will be distributed for learning purposes.

How Strong is the Force in You? The U.S. Constitution sets up one government with three branches.

Each branch has some power. The Legislative Branch makes the law The Executive Branch enforces the law The Judicial Branch interprets and applies the law

No branch has all the powers. The U.S. plan of government is a system of checks and balances or a system with separation of powers.

Separation of powers keeps one branch from getting too strong and taking over the government. The three branches must work together.
