To me fall is spending time with your family on Thanksgiving. It is making leave piles with my cousins and then jumping in to them together. It is knowing that it is time to close the pool and that it is too cold to swim. It is going to the Johnny Appleseed Festival with my family and making great memories there. It is getting all of the projects done before winter. It is getting up early in the morning to go hunting. It is watching football with my family on Sunday and going to my football games on Saturday. Alex Lin How Will You help Do you know who Alex Lin is, or what he has done for the community? If you don’t then I guess you will need to keep reading. Alex Lin cares for the community. He started a program to help recycle old electronics. The first day that they collected old electronics they got over 20,000 pounds of old electronics, but then they wanted to take it one step farther. So they started to refurbish the old electronics. The reason that he wanted to start recycling old electronics is because one day he was reading the news paper and he saw an add about something called E-waste so he found out that it comes from people throwing away their old electronics. I chose this writing because it was one of my best writings.

The Time I Dislocated my Hip I couldn’t wait it was the day before Easter and I was going on an Easter egg hunt, but it did not turn out so well. I was waiting at my house for my grandpa to come pick me up. Once he got there we went to Lake Tomahawk for the Easter egg hunt. I was happy because my friend Zach was going to be there. Once we got there I went and found Zach, after I did that we went to the play ground to swing before the Easter egg hunt started. After the Easter egg hunt we went to swing some more. We decided that we would have a competition to see who could jump off the swing the highest. The third time that I jumped off the swing my leg got stuck in the chain, I fell onto the ground. I tried to get up but I couldn’t. So my grandpa and Zach’s dad came over and picked me up, then put me in the back of the truck. They took me to my grandpa’s house to make sure that I had to go to the hospital and to call my parents to tell them what happened. They were in Columbus for my sister’s basket ball tournament. Then we went straight to the hospital. Once we got there they gave me X-Rays. My hip was not broken but it was dislocated, so then they called the doctor to tell him what happened. He did not believe that an 8 year old boy dislocated his hip the day before Easter. The doctor was surprised when he came in and found out that it was actually dislocated. He had to have another doctor help him put it back into place. One of then pulled on it and the other had to twist it. After my grandma and parents got there, they had to put me in a wheelchair to take me to the car. I chose this writing because we did it in the middle of the year. It is also one of my favorite writings.

Egypt In this writing I will be telling you about Egyptian religion, government, inventions, and more. So I guess you will need to keep reading if you want to learn more about Egypt. Egypt is located in Northeast Africa. The Egyptians made one of the earliest writing systems (hieroglyphics). Hieroglyphics were based on picture symbols. Egyptians also developed geometry based on the stars, and that is how they made the calendar based on 365 days. Egyptians also developed knowledge of human body's by preserving dead bodies and performing surgeries on the bodies. Just like we do today the Egyptians fished, farmed, irrigated water and did lot of other things. The worlds longest river (the Nile River) runs straight though the middle of Egypt. Which helps the farmers, because it floods every year making the soil very fertile. The main crops that the Egyptians grow are wheat, barley, beans, grapes, onions, and lots of others. In Egypt there was one main ruler the pharaoh or also known as the king. Each Pharaoh would get their power from their parent. And just below them was the priest and nobles who lived lives of luxury too. And next in line were the scribes, warriors, craftsmen, and merchants. And at the bottom were the slaves and peasants. In Egypt most believed in many different gods such as the god of the sun aman-ra and the good of the after life Osiris. They would build pyramids to put the dead pharaohs in. And they would surround them with gold and jewels. And they would make trapes so that if anyone tried to get in they would be killed. Now that you have read about Egypt are you glad you kept reading? I chose this writing because it was one of the last writing we did.

Me as a Writer I think that I have improved as a writer a lot this year I went from writing a couple paragraphs to writing a couple pages.

Me as a reader I love to read, it is one of the easiest thing to do in school and it is relaxing you can just sit there zone every one else out and read. I think that I have become a better reader this year. I think that because I have read a lot more than I usually do.

All About Me My name is Lincoln Urmson. I have two sisters. My mom’s name is Mom and my dad’s name is Dad. My sisters’ names are Hunter and Morgan. I play football and basketball. I like to ride dirt bikes.

My comments on teacher read alouds I am glad that in the book On My Honor that Tony changed his mind and did not kill himself. I think that my favorite book that Mrs. T read to us this year is the Island of Blue Dolphins. This book talked about a girl who had to live on her own. I liked this because I kind of like the books that talk about adventure like this. The Cay would probably be my second favorite because it also talked about two people that got stranded on an island. And now that we are reading the book Lawn Boy I think it is my new favorite book because it is funny and I like it when the guy named Rock and his goons got beat up by lawn boys fighter.

My year in review This year was fun, but it went too fast, now we are out of the elementary and we are moving on to 7 th grade. The baseball and band field trip were both really fun. I am glad to be in such a nice class and have two great teachers.
