FEMALE INFANTICIDE: BY DEFINITION IS THE INTENTIONAL KILLING OF FEMALE INFANTS DUE TO THE PREFERENCE FOR MALES AND FROM THE LOW VALUE ASSOCIATED WITH THE BIRTH OF FEMALES

DOWRY AND ONE-CHILD RULE THE DOWRY IN INDIA AND ONE CHILD RULE IN CHINA, ARE THE LEADING FACTORS OF FEMALE INFANTICIDE TODAY.

IN THE DOCUMENTARY: IT’S A GIRL, IT IS SAID THAT BOTH INDIA AND CHINA ELIMINATE MORE FEMALE INFANTS THAN THE NUMBER OF GIRLS BORN IN THE US EACH YEAR. IN 2011 THERE WERE 940 WOMEN PER 1000 MALES, AND 2001 THERE WERE 933 FEMALES PER 1000 MALES.
