Those with unknown race other than black or white are excluded here. A, Incidence was significantly higher among blacks than among whites for every age category (ie, the lower 95% confidence limit for each age-specific black-to-white rate ratio was >1). For individuals 90 days or older, denominator corresponds to population estimates for 2005; for those younger than 90 days, denominator corresponds to estimates of live births for Incidence rates correspond to the following surveillance areas: California (3-county Bay Area), Colorado (5-county Denver area; children aged 84 years.
