STEP 1 – SEARCH THE ENCYCLOPEDIA/WIKIPEDIA TO UNDERSTAND A BIT MORE ABOUT YOUR TOPIC Know a little bit about your topic before you research To get you started, wikipedia is fine, just to give you a basic understanding Why? This will allow you to be more specific on your internet searches You will not waste time reading pages that don’t have much to do with your topic Goal – Find out enough info to create a question that you can base your essay on Spend 5-10 minutes researching your topic

STEP 2 – FORM A QUESTION TO ANSWER Why? This will help guide your through out your research Keywords All students must include a Command Term and Clarifying terms Command Term – determine the type of answer you should give Analyze – explain the reasons Analyze the circumstances that would allow students to receive a 7 in History. Assess – which is the most significant Assess the significance of studying to achieving high scores on the IB. Evaluate – look at the strengths and weaknesses of the argument Evaluate the effect of not doing your homework in grade 10. To what extent – how much do you agree To what extent do you agree with the statement, “Grade 10 is the best class at ISG.”

For example, have you ever had a friend tell you a secret, because they trusted you, but you told someone else? What are the characteristics of a trustworthy person?
