Highlands-Kenya By: Brandon Finn and Jackson Hagedorn

Building a school Our school is helping kids in Kenya by building a school. We need people all around the community to help donate $2,500 to the Ed Colina foundation.

 School location This is where the school is going to be located in Eluaai, Kenya.

what the school looks like Water tank In addition we will be giving them a 4,000 gallon water tank to go with the school.

Dangers and school problems  Getting to school is dangerous because the nearest school is around 8km by walking.  Many children don’t go to school until the age of 10 or 11, if at all.  If going to school, the kids are placed in a class with much younger students.

Amount of kids not attending school

Ed Colina About Ed Colina  Ed colina has been involved for 26 years  In February of 2008, Ed began his solo projects to aide poor Masai women and children living in Athi River, Kenya

More about Ed Colina  After completing 26 years of education- based work he left his job as administrator, sold his home in Northern Kentucky and began his work in Nairobi, Kenya in September, 2007  Traveling to Africa, Ed volunteered with a renowned organization and NGO Nyumbani. Nyumbani

First reason why you should donate  Most of them only eat about one meal per day  They have to pick seeds from the plants that have already been picked  If this school is built, we will provide a lunch for them everyday

Second reason why you should donate  Building this school will allow more people to be educated and smarter  It will allow kids to go to school at earlier ages  And also they will have a bigger chance to make more friends

All About masai  While the men are away with the herds, the women and children are often left alone to face serious difficulties.  Women are encouraged to, and typically do, give birth each year.  Children are delivered by birth attendants, who operate well below hygienic standards.

Conclusion So now you have heard about their life and also the dangers of their life. If wanting to donate, donate to the HMS (Highlands Middle School) Foundation
