S.E.E.D. Survey

We created a class survey to send home to parents by:  working in groups to think of questions we could ask  deciding which questions would help us plant the most popular flowers  typing up the questions to create a survey.

The key questions are:  What flowers are you more likely to buy calendula? clarkia? cornflower? nasturtium? poppy?  What price would you be willing to pay in a supermarket? a garden centre? a school shop?

To analyse the surveys returned to school, we:  worked in groups and each group had a different question to analyse.  made a tally chart to show how many people had chosen each option.  had to pass the surveys on to the next group once we had finished.  added up the tallies to find a total.

We used our tally results to produce bar charts…

The results of our survey show: The favourite flowers are clarkia. Our parents would be willing to pay £3.50 in a supermarket £5.00 in a garden centre £1.50 or £2.50 from a school stall.

We can now use these results to help us:  choose what flowers to sell.  decide on a price to sell our produce.
