New features in brief -LTE Evolved Packet Core C&S Analysis -New User Plane Analyser application -Real-time view for the User plane KPIs -3D topology in Diagnostics: Automatic node cluster generation and KPI Profiler -CS voice data listening for Abis -Separating upper layer messages inside one IP packet -Trigger indicator in Protocol Monitor -New/updated protocols
LTE Evolved Packet Core C&S Analysis (1/2) -S3, S4, S5/S8, S6a, S10, S11, S12, S13 (GTPv2 / Diameter) –Control plane support -S1-MME and S1-U already supported in earlier versions. -Over 200 LTE related columns available in M5 LTE C&S Application!
LTE Evolved Packet Core C&S Analysis (2/2) Over 200 LTE specific columns! LTE correlated multi-interface session analysis! Browsing through phases. Opening of the Session(s) related detailed decoding with a mouse click
New User Plane Analyser application (1/6) Start application in Applications - > User Plane Analyser
New User Plane Analyser application (2/6) -User Plane Analyser is an application for IP network analysis: –Flow analysis & troubleshooting tool –User Plane Analyser is a free client for all M5 users –To utilise it one always needs iPro unit with “ Line-rate user plane analysis”-Option ! -All data is queried from DB => Post processing application -User Plane Analyser consists of different views –Flow views = Flows, end points and sessions in table view –Graphs = Session or Flow based QoS/KPI like throughput graphs –Statistical and IP-endpoints views. –Map view = Geographic map of the connections
New User Plane Analyser application (3/6) -Support for individual, tunnelled and aggregated IP flows: –Filter, sort and find the data to find the needed information –Identify individual IP flows, aggregate flows based on any flow values like IP addresses, VLAN Ids, MPLS tags, locations etc. –Support for tunnelled IP connections (GTP-u) -Configurable KPIs: –iPro calculates only the QoS parameters user defines: throughput, delay or jitter –Flow-related KPIs can be seen from flow-view –M5 Diagnostics can show the real-time KPIs –More detailed data via drilldown options compared to traditional network monitoring systems –Fast drilldown from network level statistics to root-causes
New User Plane Analyser application (4/6) – Map view Map view presents the connection endpoints and the amount of transferred data.
New User Plane Analyser application (5/6) – Flow view Flow view lists all the individual flows that can be filtered, aggregated and sorted using any flow record columns.
New User Plane Analyser application (6/6) – QoS graphs You can select any flow record and have a throughput graph. Graph window will present the KPI for selected flows
Real-time KPIs from Diagnostics (1/2) -Diagnostics can illustrate QoS KPIs in real-time: –Calculations with iPro QoS settings or with M5 QoS Recorder -User can define the KPIs in multiple Graphs -With the “live-update” functionality, KPIs are updated automatically –Unique real-time view for up to 1Gbps throughput capability!
Real-time KPIs from Diagnostics GUI (2/2) Live update of KPIs. Example graph for Tunneled IP Throughput KPI.
3D topology in Diagnostics – Automatic node cluster generation and KPI Profiler (1/2) -Automatic node cluster generation based on mutual connections. -KPI Profiler collects all KPI data and calculates simple, statistical measures (Bias e.g. show average, show maximum etc.) for each unique KPI. –It provides the user a more detailed window to the node data and helps understanding the nuances between nodes.
3D topology in Diagnostics – Automatic node cluster generation and KPI Profiler (2/2) The statistical measures are scaled node by node on a colour scale. E.g. Nodes coloured with black have small KPI values while nodes with red indicate large values. The nodes of the network are coloured based on the KPI Selection (e.g. Throughput) and Bias (e.g. Show Average) chosen by the user. Exact values for KPIs selected can be observed via tool tips shown for each node.
Trigger indicator in Protocol Monitor Trigger indicator button on the status bar of the Protocol Monitor window. All triggers deactivated -> indicator button grey in colour. Any trigger activated -> indicator button green in colour). Double-click the button to activate/deactivate all the triggers.
CS voice data listening for Abis – Abis Scanner (1/2) -New Abis Scanner to find out configuration/mapping for Abis voice listening: –Configuration can be done manually by using Abis Scanner Editor or directly to the configuration file “ AbisVoiceMappings.xml ” if configuration/mapping known beforehand. OR –Abis Scanner can be used to find out the configuration. This configuration can be saved for future use e.g. as a default configuration. –Note! If the voice setting file is saved with the default name then it is taken automatically into use for Abis speech playback / recording.
CS voice data listening for Abis – Abis Scanner (2/2) Open Call & Session Analysis application with Abis signalling connections. Start Abis Scanner in Call & Session Analysis application menu -> Start application / Abis Scanner. To start Abis scanning: 1. First “Dynamic Abis” connection parameter needs to be set “On” for Abis signalling connections. 2. Configure General and Timeslots settings in Options. 3. Click “Start Abis scanning” button. Select whether to clear the existing scanner results or not. 4. Then click “Start Analysis” (for C&SA) (in offline analysis starts automatically). 5. Abis scanning results will appear in the Voice mappings table.
Separating upper layer messages inside one IP packet -M5 handles all sub-events like separate messages that one chunk can include. E.g. SCTP decoder uses sub-events. Sub-events handled separately in: –MSC and SLD views in PM –Filter in/out trigger actions Turning the functionality on/off
