Impact Evaluation of the Café con Leche’s program: An Integral Approach Economics of Communion 06/26/15 Martha Cruz Zuniga The Catholic University of America

The Fundamental Role of Education Growth and Development Institutions Human Capital Education

Human Capital  Human capital is fundamental to reach: Productivity Technological progress Competitiveness Well being Development

Sustainable Development More than economic processes – it engages social and political processes. Interaction between these processes reinforce each other in ways that worsen or facilitate achieving sustainable development. Requires a better understanding of the socio-economic dynamics underpinning these processes. An Integral Approach is needed.

Sometimes we forget that….. At the center of these dynamics is the human person, who originates and is served by the economic activity. They way in which people interact, helps or jeopardizes sustainable development. CIVIL SOCIETY has a key role in this process.

Civil Society needs to Contribute by: People Advocating for people’s needs Solving problems that affect communities Increasing monitoring and accountability of governments Supporting resilience in the presence of crisis Promoting Proactive Behavior
