GROUP MEMBERS : ALOYSIUS, HUMIARA, BAHIRAH GROUP 9 Journey to the botanic garden

What we have learnt ? There are many types of dispersal Not only a plant can grow in a pot it can also grow in cracks Many types of plant uses dispersal The commonly known dispersal is Animal dispersal

Thank you for your kind attention.

1.What are the characteristics of the seeds/fruits for different types of dispersal? - wind -bursting - shoots - shakers - water - drop n roll - animal And many more…

Facts - There was a young plant growing in a crack of a building - The pupils were curious and wanted to find out how the seeds were planted there

Possible ideas A bird carried the seeds to the crack Someone climbed and planted the seed there The wind blew it there The fruit burst out the seeds

Learning issues What type of dispersal the plant used to grow in the crack ? How did the plant get the water and food to grow ? What are the conditions of a plant to live in a crack ?

Actions Ask a teacher Go to the library for books Surf the net Ask an expert Ask family members Go to the Singapore Botanic Garden and learn more about plant dispersing

Animal dispersal Wind dispersal A bird carrying a seedSeeds blown away from a plant Different dispersal
