Famous names: Willdenow, Humboldt, Schweinfurth, Eichler, Urban, Engler … 1822: Foundation of Berlin University, since then garden directors are at the same time professors of botany around 1900: relocation of the garden (including herbarium and museum) to Dahlem Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem Carl Ludwig Willdenow (1765 – 1812) 300 years of scientific tradition: Adolf Engler ( )
